Description

Coagulants are a substance which causes particles in a fluid to coagulate and clump together. Particles remain suspended in water as opposed to settling since they convey surface electrical charges that commonly repulse one another. Coagulants convey the contrary charge to the particles and consequently influence the charge to ‘destabilize’ when added to the water; bringing about the particles sticking together.
